The Academy of Family Physicians Pakistan (AFPP) organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on the topic “Role of Diuretics in Fluid Managementâ€, featuring renowned medical expert Prof. Dr. Israr Ul Haq Toor as the keynote speaker. The session brought together family physicians, general practitioners, and postgraduate trainees for academic learning and clinical discussion._x000D_
In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Toor explained the importance of maintaining proper fluid balance in patients and the central role of diuretics in modern medical practice. He discussed their use in common conditions such as heart failure, chronic kidney disease, liver disorders, and other fluid-overload states._x000D_
He further elaborated on the mechanisms of action of different classes of diuretics, appropriate selection of therapy, and individualized dosing strategies.
