The 19th Senate meeting of King Edward Medical University (KEMU) was held under the chairmanship of Chancellor and Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, where the revised budget for FY 2025–26, the budget estimates for FY 2026–27, and several key academic and administrative policies were unanimously approved._x000D_
Prior to the meeting, the Governor inaugurated the university’s modern postmortem rooms and souvenir shop._x000D_
The Senate also approved the Higher Education Commission’s Professor of Practice Policy and Meritorious Professor Policy._x000D_
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said the Punjab government would continue extending full support to KEMU for the promotion of quality medical education, research, and innovation._x000D_
Pro-Chancellor and Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, reforms in the health sector were progressing steadily, while KEMU continued to achieve significant milestones in medical education and research._x000D_
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz informed the Senate that the university had secured notable achievements, including an improved position in the QS World University Rankings, an HEC score of 93.7, and the successful placement of 155 graduates into U.S. residency programmes.
