Its owner, Amanda Beath, said her mother gave her the bird as a gift in 1997, when Spodles was about three years old._x000D_

Amanda joked that she often says the bird “just refuses to die,” adding that she simply keeps feeding and caring for it._x000D_

Although Spodles is not as talkative as it once was, Amanda said the beloved pet still starts each morning by saying, “Pretty bird,” a habit that continues to reflect its charming personality.
