Developed jointly by a Japanese company and an industrial equipment manufacturer, the system uses powerful blasts of cold air to rapidly cool the human body._x000D_

Standing around seven feet tall and 3.9 feet wide, the unit resembles a large vending machine or refrigerator. According to the company, spending around 10 minutes inside the cooling chamber can significantly reduce symptoms of heat exhaustion._x000D_

The interior temperature is maintained at around 15 degrees Celsius, while air cooled to approximately 5 degrees Celsius is directed towards the user’s head, neck, shoulders and back._x000D_

For safety, the system automatically shuts down after 20 minutes to prevent excessive cooling of the body._x000D_

The company claims the device is the world’s first system designed to cool the entire body simultaneously and can lower body temperature more quickly than conventional air conditioning._x000D_

Despite its energy efficiency, the unit reportedly costs around 16 yen per hour to operate. However, the price of a single machine is approximately 1.5 million Japanese yen, equivalent to more than $10,000.
