During the study, more than 22,000 people who were not used to regular exercise were studied for about seven years. The researchers found that if just four to five minutes of relatively brisk physical activity were added to the daily routine, the overall risk of cancer could be reduced by about 18 percent, while the risk of certain types of cancer related to physical activity could be reduced by 32 percent. According to experts, not everyone needs to be physically active for this purpose. Everyday tasks, such as carrying heavy goods while shopping, walking briskly or playing games with children that involve intense physical activity, can also be effective._x000D_

The study also found that short bursts of physical activity improve heart and lung function, or cardiorespiratory fitness. The researchers say that this improvement could potentially be an important biological reason for the reduced risk of cancer._x000D_

Experts further explained that an active lifestyle not only improves physical health but also helps in increasing insulin sensitivity and reducing chronic inflammation in the body. Both of these factors are also linked to reducing the risk of cancer._x000D_

According to the study results, if a few minutes of vigorous physical activity is made a regular part of daily life, it can have positive effects on health and also help in preventing cancer.
